I found myself trying this very particular version of your emulator today and found (still, through some tinkering) that most multiplayer games run at a satisfactory 60 FPS.

In light of this unfortunate circumstance, would it be possible to upgrade the current core to BSNES v070, adding the (personally) very much needed 'Performance' profile with it? I was unaware that such conflict existed. ZSNES is GPL, but was discontinued six and a half years ago, and only runs on a single architecture.ДЄll other SNES emulators are closed source.

This license is incompatible with the GPL, which is what Mednafen uses.

Snes9X is only available under a non-commercial license, as is MESS' SNES emulation core. Thank you in advance for reading this post, and thank you once more for this incredible emulator. I would just like to say that if you added a faster SNES core (based on SNES9x), it would really make it my definitive SNES emulator for netplay, since the alternatives are either too limited (ZSNES and RetroArch being P2P) or flawed (ZSNES and SNES9k being too old, with the latter depending on a crooked library). While I'm not against the accuracy that the current BSNES core supplies for Mednafen, I speak for myself when I say that I believe it to be too resource demanding. I'd like to request a core alternative for SNES emulation. We also tried binding everyone's controls to port 1 but RetroArch doesn't seem to handle switching port inputs on the fly for netplay.

Bsnes netplay Patch#

I've tested this locally and I've confirmed that the patch itself is working. Started happening a few hours ago when our group was trying to play Trials of Mana with the 3 player hack. No errors and we've never been able to get this working successfully.

Player 3 goes to menu, binds their controls for port 3.

Sets port 2 to multitap, netplay session still registers inputs from port 2.

Player 2 goes to menu, binds their controls for port 2.

Player 1 sets port 2 controller to multitap.

Second client connects, requesting player 3 slot.

Host starts netplay session and first client connects, requesting player 2 slot.

Player 3 can connect to host and everyone (host and clients) have player 2 set to multitap in their local configuration but no inputs are being registered. Player 3 should be able to connect and use their controller the same as player 1 and 2 when doing SNES netplay. This behaviour is core agnostic, only difference is that with bsnes core port 3 is labeled RetroPad instead of SNES pad. Tested several games locally and there was no issue controlling 3 player inputs at once. When doing SNES netplay with 3 players (bsnes or snes9x core) the third player can't enter any inputs.
